VSAT is an abbreviation for Very Small Aperture Terminal, which is an earth terminal used in data communication, voice and video through satellite.
The main function of VSAT is to receive and send data to the satellite, then the satellite functions as signal transmitter to be sent to other points (other earthterminal receiver) Patrakom provides three types of network technology for VSAT, which are:
VSAT-SCPC service can be utilized by User for their Fixed, Moving or Mobule location needs.
User with moving location, such as ATM Vehicle, is provide with Auto pointing antenna, as for Customer with mobile location, such as vessel, uses Gyro Stabilized Antenna.
Communication connectivity between the User’s location can use Point to Point topology, such as between 2 offices, or Point to Multipoint, such as in communication between head office and several branch offices.
This service is using dedicated bandwidth, which is very suitable to be used for distributing information that has permanent link, such as in streaming application.
VSAT-SCPC can serve communication needs from low speed of 32 Kbps up to high speed of 155 Mbps. To increase the information security, this service can be equipped with Secured Network option by using data encryption device
