VSAT is an abbreviation for Very Small Aperture Terminal, which is an earth terminal used in data communication, voice and video through satellite.
The main function of VSAT is to receive and send data to the satellite, then the satellite functions as signal transmitter to be sent to other points (other earthterminal receiver) Patrakom provides three types of network technology for VSAT, which are:
This service saves the use of transponder by using shared technology such as VSAT-IP, but it still guanrantees the bandwidth availability from remote such as VSAT-SCPC.
This combination enables VSAT-dSCPC to become a leading solution to communicate using Star topology.
In VSAT-dSCPC, downstream canal uses TDM technology, while upstream canal uses SCPC technology with canal width that will adjust with the information being sent.
By using different outdoor facilities, VSAT-dSCPC is able to fulfil communication needs between users with Fixed, Moving or Mobile Location.
Backhaul is not required if the VSAT-dSCPC Hub is positioned in the User’s location. VSAT-dSCPC can fulfil communication needs with speed starting from 2,4Kbps to 2Mbps.
Changing and monitoring of configuration and bandwidth of VSAT-dSCPC can be done in flexible way from the NMS (Network Management System).
